LIL TRICK (11) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of nine weeks, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 6f at this track (Dirt). Good effort to launch last prep when in the money at this track over 6f. Strong winning chance on best figures. COAL FIRED (3) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 24 lengths away in ninth over 6½f at Turfway Park. No surprise to see him in contention.
