SILK LACE (3) won her maiden over this course and distance last start, getting the verdict by 0. 6 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Looks well placed and a bold showing is expected. VALENTINO PRINCE (8) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 1. 4 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6½f at this track after being in the firing line on the turn. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. CLOSE TO MIDNIGHT (1) returns from a lay-off of six months and is having his first run for a new yard. Finished seventh at Caulfield Heath over 5f when when resuming last time in work. Fitter for a eighth in a recent trial over 4f at Beaumont (Newcastle). Comes here with definite top-three claims. FARNCIFUL (5) hit the frame two starts ago at Muswellbrook but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 5 lengths over 5f at Gosford. Open to improvement and should be about the money.
