CLOSE ENCOUNTER (5) didn't do a bad job when seventh last start over 6¾f at Rosehill, beaten 2. 75 lengths after he did his best work in the closing stages. That followed a win at Kembla Grange the start prior. Tackling a more suitable race so he can play a big role. IL PASSERO (7) drifted well back last start then wound up strongly to finish fourth, beaten 4. 5 lengths, over 7f at Warwick Farm. Sure to prove tough to stop. ANGARA (4) sat close to the pace last time out but faded to finish eighth, beaten 12 lengths over this journey at Canterbury. Bold showing expected. LADY YARROW (11) was a dominant winner last time over 6f at Sapphire Coast, drifting well back but unleashing late to run away with a 4 length win. Commendable record at this trip with a win and three minor placings and is one of the better hopes.
