ELEGANT ERIN (6) was eye-catching despite a luckless fifth over course and distance last-time-out. With a good pace from the outset she could get this run to suit. MAKANAH (5) shaped well when fourth on heavy ground in a 5f Nottingham handicap last start and remains well-handicapped. DARK KESTREL (7) won nicely tackling track and trip nineteen days ago and cannot be dismissed up in grade. The consistent SPIRIT OF APPLAUSE (8) is also considered.
