NOR NOR WEST (1) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when seventh, beaten 4 lengths, over 5f at Muswellbrook after he settled well back. Cherry-ripe now and is the one they have to beat. BEAUTY EDGE (2) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 13 starts. Did a good job last start to finish third over 5½f at Forbes, beaten 1. 4 lengths. Best figures measure up nicely. Makes plenty of appeal. CHAMP DE MARS (5) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just once from 22 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fifth over 6f at Canberra, beaten 2. 25 lengths. Nicely placed to test this line-up. HARD TOO IMPRESS (3) turned in another moderate effort last start when 7 lengths from the winner in 11th over 5f at Dubbo. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
