NEW JERSEY (4) displayed plenty of early toe over 7f at Corowa last time and defied all challengers to score by 1.1 lengths. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. ZIPITALIST (8) was in contention on the bend and progressed nicely last start to finish a close second over 6½f at Hawkesbury after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Faces an easier assignment so he is likely to play a big role. SMART POPPY (3) scored last start at Gundagai to make it two wins from two starts this campaign. Backmarker who keeps coming. Not to be discounted.
