MISS GABBIANO (4) started at 17/2 last time on the back of a win at Albury two starts ago but was below her best, finishing ninth over 5½f at Wangaratta after being prominent at the turn. Has the class to find the winners' list. BEFORE THE WAR (3) registered his first win last start over 5f70yards at Wagga Riverside, getting home by 2.25 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Nick Heywood was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Looms as one of the hardest to beat again. SEPEARL (5) did little and finished 5.5 lengths from the winner in seventh over 4½f at Wellington last start, a less impressive effort than her sixth at Wellington the run before. Finds a nice race and can find winning form. CLEAR MISSION (1) returned from a break last start and raced on the speed before kicking strongly to score by a head over 5f at Albury. Fitter and with blinkers applied he makes plenty of appeal.
