SAVATOFF (7) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Casterton but couldn't back it up last start when ninth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1m at Echuca. Likely improver with strong prospects. MAGGIE'S SON (2) turned in a nice effort to score two runs ago at Warrnambool. Couldn't follow that up last time out when fifth over 1m4f at Swan Hill, beaten 5.5 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time. IRVING AGAIN (1) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 10 starts. Was again denied last start when he found one better over 1m1/4f at Donald. In the right race and there is no reason he cannot get the major prize. TEN DOWNING STREET (8) was below his best last time, finishing seventh and beaten 5.5 lengths over 1m3/4f at Sale. Finds a nice race and can make amends.
