DERBY DOWNS (6) finished second when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Gawler. This looks an ideal assignment. LONGWARRY (2) broke his maiden last start over 6f at Mt Gambier when resuming, scoring by 0.7 lengths. Re-unites with Samuel Payne who was on board last start. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again. BONA FIDE STAR (7) finished third last start over 6¾f at Strathalbyn, beaten a nose. Should be cherry-ripe. Nicely placed to run well again.
