METEORITE (4) did little and finished 5 lengths from the winner in ninth over 5½f at Ararat last start, a less impressive effort than his eighth at Mornington the run before. Nicely placed to take this out. CORK HARBOUR (10) did little and finished 1.75 lengths from the winner in seventh over 6f at Gawler last start, a less impressive effort than his fifth at Penola the run before. Finds a nice race and can figure in the finish. MISS GATSBY (11) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a seventh over 6f at Bordertown. Meets a stronger field but she is good enough to turn things around. SOUTHERN NATIVE (6) progressed nicely last start to finish a close second over 6½f at Avoca after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role.
