FONTAINE ROUGE (8) produced a good effort when narrowly defeated last time at Sandown-Hillside over 1m1f. Sure to feature again. BEACH PAD (4) improved sharply on his fifth two starts back at this track with a win over 1m2 1/4f at Strathalbyn two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 3 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. CRIMSON VINE (3) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 1m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths. Jacob Opperman gets the best out of this five-year-old mare. Fitter this time. Hard to beat in this suitable race. LAKE'S FOLLY (1) will find this a little easier than his last run just eight days ago when tenth over 1m2 1/4f at Mt Gambier. Deserves another chance.
