STARDEALT (7) ran on strongly only to just miss last start over 1m at Pakenham. Should be near his peak for this. Taking on a better line-up this time but he deserves his chance. HOLMES (2) closed off strongly last start to get up for second, beaten 1.4 lengths, over 7¾f at Morphettville Parks. Reunites with Todd Pannell who has never missed the frame from eight rides, including two wins. Bold showing expected. ITSUKUSHIMA (3) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 7 lengths, over 7f134yards at Moonee Valley. Solid top-three hope. HARD PRINCE (5) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 0.6 lengths away in second over 1m1f at this track. Well placed and will be thereabouts again.
