WALLY WEST (5) went forward from the low draw last time before fading to finish eighth over 6f at this track. Will be handy in the run and should prove hard to run down. SPORTSBEAT (4) resumed over 5½f at Flemington where he showed little early speed but got home nicely to finish fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will drift back but is going to be hard to hold out. REGAL DANCER (12) returned from a lay-off three weeks ago when he was beaten 6 lengths into tenth over 5¼f at this track. Strips fitter and can figure prominently. TALKIN' ITALIAN (3) scored last start at Strathalbyn to make it two wins from four starts this campaign. Settles back early but winds up late. Don't underestimate.
