SEMELLE ROUGE (5) closed last prep three-and-a-half months ago when she finished fifth over 5f at Pakenham. Is lightly raced and looks forward enough after a solid recent trial. Should be in the finish. LAKE GILLEAR (3) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 5. 5 lengths when sixth in a 5f contest at Cranbourne three-and-a-half weeks ago after being prominent at the bend. This doesn't look as hard so he is one of the main contenders. MEISHO (4) was in the firing line on the turn and finished second last time over 5f at Cranbourne when resuming from a lay-off, beaten 1. 75 lengths. This is a suitable assignment and can find winning form. BANGHOLME (2) was beaten 9 lengths into eighth in a 5f contest at Cranbourne last time out. Better than recent efforts suggest.
