Race Tip

SAVAMOON (10) has been in the placings two times from three starts in this maiden campaign, the latest as favourite over 1m at Bairnsdale when a nose from the winner. Looks the testing material. STEEL IMPACT (14) travelled in a rearwards position then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 1.75 lengths away in fifth last time out over 6¾f at Donald two-and-a-half weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Should settle handy in the run. Expected to be in the finish. CHESAPEAKE BABE (11) finished third when resuming at Benalla then couldn't repeat the dose last time when fourth at Seymour over 1m when beaten 8 lengths. Has the addition of blinkers. Finds a nice race and can measure up. LARRYOCTANE (3) returned from a lay-off four weeks ago when he was beaten 5.5 lengths into eighth over 7f at Pakenham. Strips fitter and can turn things around.
