Expected to go well. MAGIA NERA (5) started at 8/13 last time and ran below expectations, finishing ninth and beaten 6 lengths at Evangeline Downs (Dirt) over 7f after being prominent at the bend. Finds the right race this time and can find winning form. STATLER (7) turned things around last start and scored by 10 lengths after being in contention on the corner as public elect over 6f at this track (Dirt). Finds a suitable race and can build on that solid recent effort. HEXCEL (4) was among the placings on the turf over 1m at this track in a but couldn't find the top-three on the same surface last time out, finishing fifth over 1m1/2f at this track. One of the genuine hopes in the race. Don't underestimate back on dirt.
