OPEN ME CHAMPAGNE (6) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish seventh, beaten 1.3 lengths, over 1f at Evangeline Downs (Dirt). Rates highly and expected to go well. MARLA CARTEL ANGEL (4) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish half a length away in second over 1f80yards at Evangeline Downs (Dirt). Goes up a rung or two but she is good enough to take this out. WITHOUT A TRACE (2) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 1f80yards at Evangeline Downs, beaten 3.5 lengths. Strips fitter and should be thereabouts.
