SOUTHERN SLANG (3) was never in contention when 17 lengths from the winner in eighth over 6f at Los Alamitos last start, a less impressive effort than his sixth at Los Alamitos the run before. Won't find this as tough so he can find the winners' list. DRIVER'S ED (1) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 5½f at Pleasanton, beaten 5 lengths into sixth. Finds a nice race and can take this out. EXCESSIVE CAT (2) has had two runs since a break, the latest a fourth over 5f at Los Alamitos (Dirt), beaten 6 lengths. Unbeaten in two starts at the third run in so he is among the winning hopes. RASSLER (5) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish third last time out over 5f at Los Alamitos (Dirt). Will spot them a start but watch for him late.
