APOLLO RISING (6) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 1m at Turf Paradise, beaten 6 lengths. Steps up a level but he is fitter and up to the task. MACKINNON (2) was below his best last time, finishing eighth and beaten 6 lengths over 1m at Santa Anita (Turf). Nicely placed to turn things around. MOR LANA SPIRIT (5) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 9 lengths when fourth over 1m1/2f at this track three-and-a-half weeks ago after being prominent at the turn. Must raise the bar but a big run will not surprise. ZE'BUL (1) turned in a fine effort to win by 17 lengths at this track and distance last start in a much improved run. Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves plenty of thought.
