Roger Varian trained horses have been needing their first run this season and DEFIANCE (4) returned to action delivering an excellent second in the 1m2f Listed Blue Riband Trial Stakes at Epsom. Could prove the biggest danger with that outing under his belt. THE EUPHRATES (9) finished runner-up in the aforementioned Ballysax Stakes. Must be included despite stable jockey Ryan Moore choosing to ride the main selection. MEYDAAN (7) retains plenty of potential and could go well up in trip.
