AMERICAN UNITY (2) finished 2.75 lengths behind the winner in second over 1m1/2f at Colonial Downs (Turf) last start after lifting strongly to score two runs back. Drawn to enjoy a nice run just off the lead. Among the leading chances. BRING ME A CHECK (9) is having his first run since winning by 0.3 lengths three weeks ago over 1m at Monmouth Park. Has transferred to the Kieron Magee stable over the break. One of the better hopes. COVERT KAT (7) doesn't win very often but ran a nice race last time out over 5½f at this track (Turf), finishing second and beaten half a length after being in the firing line on the turn. Likely improver with strong prospects. TOM HAGEN (5) returned from a lay-off five weeks ago when he was prominent at the turn before being beaten 4 lengths into sixth over 1m1/2f at Colonial Downs. Strips fitter and should be thereabouts.
