INDEPENDENT ROAD (1) was in the money two starts back at Stony Creek but was unable to repeat the effort last time when sixth, beaten 6 lengths, at Moonee Valley over 1m2 1/4f after being in contention on the bend. Perfectly placed and is sure to play a pivotal role. THE NEPHEW (2) gets a change of rider and has been freshened up since finishing sixth over 1m7f at Moonee Valley last start. Can feature prominently. STAR BUYER (3) has good form and wound up strongly to score last time out over 1m1f at Gundagai. Races over the same journey and should be winding up strongly. NOTMEANTTOBE (4) finished a 3.5 lengths sixth on turf at Towong two starts ago. Much better last time though, following up with success on the dirt at Broken Hill over 1m five weeks ago. Hard to knock recent form. Worth plenty of thought again.
