LAVENDER BAY (9) has been racing in great heart with two top-three finishes on end, the latest a second over 1m1f at Durbanville. Meeting a tougher field but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders. HELIOTROPE (1) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Durbanville, finishing fourth and only 1. 75 lengths from the winner at the end of 1m1f when she worked home well. Facing a tougher assignment but she is worth serious consideration. MY ONLY WEAKNESS (5) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 7½f at Durbanville, beaten 2. 75 lengths into fourth. Finds a nice race and can make amends.
