The engagement of Juan Paul V'd Merwe is a positive move. Placed to advantage so expect a big run. BATON ROUGE (5) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing second and beaten only 2.25 lengths over 1m1f at this track. Tackling a more suitable race so he is one of the main contenders. COUNT WILLIAM (4) recorded a gutsy maiden victory last time out over 1m at this track, scoring by a long neck. Looks well placed and he is one of the main chances. ENGLISH MISTRESS (2) recorded her first win last start over 1m1/2f at this track, getting home by a nose. Re-unites with Andrew Fortune who was on board last start. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade.
