Grant Van Niekerk is a key engagement. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time. HOLDING THUMBS (7) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 1m4 1/2f at this track, beaten only 1.75 lengths. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. LOVE IS A ROSE (3) was unwanted in betting last start but performed beyond expectations when beaten 1.3 lengths into second over 1m4 1/2f at this track. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. One of the main contenders. NAVY STRENGTH (6) built on a nice third two starts back at Durbanville with a win over 1m1f at this track a month ago, getting home by a head. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
