CHARLENE (11) is back at the races for the first time since January 13. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 6f at this track. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. SPIRIT GUIDE (6) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 5½f at this track. This doesn't look as hard so she is one of the main contenders. FUTURE STAR (8) closed last prep eight months ago when she finished fifth over 5f at Durbanville. Has definite claims. COTONOU (16) was beaten 2.5 lengths into seventh over 6f at this track last time out. No surprise to see her in the mix.
