HIGHLAND MIRAGE (6) was a new acquisition for the Cassandra Schmidt stable last start when he made steady ground to run into third over 6½f at Taree at the first run back from a lay-off. Expected to run well again. WING NUT (2) ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 1m at Taree after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Nicely placed to take this out. HARDASH (5) is a eight-start maiden who could only manage to finish ninth at his latest appearance over 7f at Armidale. Looks to be in the right race to play a big role. ROCK THE MACHINE (10) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Grafton, beaten 2.75 lengths into fourth. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
