REBEL'S EDGE (6) started at 13/2 last time and ran below expectations, finishing 11th and beaten 21 lengths at Taree over 1m. Darryl Mclellan gets the best out of this five-year-old gelding. Meets a stronger field but he is capable of running a bold race. AUZSTAR (3) was below his best last time, finishing 12th and beaten 4.5 lengths over 6½f at Warwick Farm. Ideally placed and is sure to play a major role. CLAPTONE (5) finished 13th two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 6f67yards at Taree, beaten only a neck after being in the firing line on the bend. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is capable of testing his rivals. STROBING (4) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m at Taree, beaten 2.75 lengths. Nicely placed to maintain the form.
