ROULADEN (3) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1m at Gosford after being in contention all the way. Finds the right race this time and can get the job done. ALGORITHMIC (1) was in the money at Newcastle when resuming two runs back then could only manage fourth at Newcastle over 6¼f a week-and-a-half ago. Not far off a win and rates highly on his best form. RIDGEBACK (5) did little and finished 11 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1m1 1/2f at Canberra Acton last start, a less impressive effort than his when resuming seventh at this track the run before. Meets some better types this time but he has the ability to test this field. LEON RUBEN (10) was never in contention last time over 1m at this track when he finished seventh, beaten 7 lengths. Worth plenty of thought.
