KATTEGAT (9) stepped up in trip to 6f last time at Moruya and ran below his best, finishing 13 lengths away in tenth. Coming back in trip suits so looks a leading contender. INSIST (3) returns from a lay-off of nine months and did score when resuming when last in work at Newcastle over 4½f. Lines up for the first time for the Mitchell Beer & George Carpenter stable. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Hawkesbury trial. Will be tuned-up for this and is expected to run well. GAMBLER (5) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 3. 5 lengths when fifth over 5f at Gosford three-and-a-half weeks ago. Finds a nice race and can turn things around. CENTURY SONG (1) was in a different class last time, sitting just off the speed before letting down impressively for a 3 length win at this track over 5f. Has a formidable combination with Brock Ryan who has been aboard for his last two wins. Among the top-three hopes.
