PHOENIX LEGEND (4) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6½f at this track, beaten 1.5 lengths into fifth after being in contention on the turn. Nicely placed to get the prize. HIGHLAND LAD (1) improved last time out, finishing 3.5 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 1m1/2f at Wagga Riverside. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is one of the key runners. HELICONIA (7) is a three-start maiden who is knocking on the door, the latest effort a solid third at this track over 1m. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. SHADASHI (9) was in a rearwards position on the turn last time out before finishing 3.5 lengths back in seventh over 7½f at Hawkesbury. No surprise if she figured in the finish.
