CAPE BYRON (1) ran below expectations last time after being in contention on the turn at this track, finishing seventh and beaten 2.5 lengths starting at 9/2. Nicely placed to turn things around. VICTORY AT OMAHA (14) missed the frame but not disgraced in town when fourth at Canterbury. Returns to home track this time. Has a high cruising speed. Expecting a bold showing. CALIFORNIA WAVES (11) finished third last start over 7½f at this track, beaten 2.2.5 lengths. Hard to beat in this suitable race. FIFTH FORCE (3) drifted back early when resuming last start and could only manage a 4 length ninth over 6½f at Randwick. Generally goes well with that run under the belt. Can improve sharply here.
