KING EMPEROR (5) started at 13/8 last time and ran below expectations, finishing sixth and beaten 5 lengths at Sunshine Coast over 7f. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. I SAY I SAY (3) finished third last time out over 7f at Sunshine Coast, making it three career minor placings. Yet to miss the top-three in two runs at this course. Great chance to break through. ALKEBULAN (8) finished 7 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 1m1/2f at Gold Coast, an improvement on her eighth at Sunshine Coast the run before. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. STEPLIKA LION (6) could only manage to finish sixth, beaten 9 lengths, after being in contention on the bend at his latest appearance over 1m2 1/4f at Gold Coast. Among the chances in what looks a nice race for him.
