AUTUMN MISS (11) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound second over 6¾f at Doomben. This is a nice race and can take this out. MERCHANT FLYER (3) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then did a good job last start but found one better over 1m1/2f at this track, beaten only a nose after being in contention on the turn. Finds a more suitable contest and can get the job done. APFEL (10) missed the frame when resuming last start over 6¾f at Doomben but wasn't all that far from the winner. Will appreciate a drop in grade. Well placed and is one of the contenders. SALAMANCAS (4) could only manage to finish fifth, beaten 2.5 lengths, at his latest appearance over 1m at Sunshine Coast after he was well back on straightening. Likely to be thereabouts.
