DALT JAZ (2) has a moderate winning strike-rate but did a good job when returning from a break last time at Bowen, finishing second and only 1. 3 lengths from the winner at the end of 5f when he made late ground. Finds a tougher race but he has the ability to test this field. VEGAMEISTER (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he got a long way back over 5f at Townsville, beaten 2. 25 lengths into sixth. Has the ability to take care of this field. WAR COUNCIL (4) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 2 lengths over 7f at Townsville after being in contention on the corner. Has the class to build on that encouraging effort last start. REDLIGHTS ON (5) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6¾f at Mt Garnet, beaten 6 lengths into fifth. No surprise to see him in the frame.
