ZIRYAB (5) was given a short break after finishing sixth over 1m4 1/2f in the LR Pakenham Cup. Subsequently scored a trial win at Cranbourne. Sure to make his presence felt. BANK MAUR (1) showed good early muster and fought on to finish third last start over 1m in the LR The Inevitable (Tasmanian) Stakes at this track. Finds the right race this time and can take this out. WINEGLASS BAY (2) turned in an eye-catching run over 1m1f at Longford last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish third. Can figure in the finish again. ASVA (3) scored last start at Devonport Synthetic to make it two wins from four starts this campaign. Harder here but is not to be discounted.
