Race Tip

DOCTOR OSCAR (1) met with solid support last time out but could only manage to finish fifth over 6f in Listed grade at Canterbury Park (Dirt) in a disappointing performance. Has the talent to take this out. SIR STERLING (2) was well in commission last time but ran below expectations when fourth and beaten 2 lengths over 7f at Canterbury Park (Dirt). Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Will play a major role. SHANKAR (5) is back at the races for the first time since April 26. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 1m1/2f at Gulfstream Park. Lines up. For the first time for trainer antonio meraz. Worth plenty of thought. MISTER KELLY (3) is back from a lay-off of 11 weeks and does go well when fresh, including a win to launch last campaign over 5½f at Gulfstream Park (Synthetic). One of the genuine hopes in the race.
