NEW YEAR SURPRISE (3) proved too strong two runs ago at this track. Less impressive last time out when second over 1m1/4f at this track, beaten 12 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. BLURT (4) went fast early and went on to score by 3 lengths last time out over 1m1/4f at this track (Dirt). Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. MCMONEY (5) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was always well out of his ground over 1m1/2f at this track, beaten 25 lengths into seventh. This is a nice drop in grade so he is a major player. FLYING SAMURAI (2) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish third over 1m1/2f at this track (Dirt). Has been in sound form this prep with a win and five minor placings from 10 outings. One of the fringe hopes.
