Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. VALIANT WINTER (5) has been in the money four times including when resuming last start on October 18 when third over 5½f at this track (Synthetic). Has a sound record here with four top-three finishes from six starts. Sure to prove very tough to beat. JAKER (1) is a two-start maiden who placed on debut then could only manage seventh last start, beaten 10 lengths over 5½f at this track (Dirt). Leading player based on that debut performance. LODATO (4) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 6 lengths into sixth over 6f at Aqueduct. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
