VANTORIX (1) impressed when successful as favourite on debut over 5f at Taree five months ago and has not been produced since. Has since been kept ticking over with a Taree trial win. Will come on following that run and looks tough to hold out again. BRIEF AUTHORITY (2) is a son of Anders from the mare Shorthand. Cost AUD $ 120,000 (Magic Millions 2025 Gold Coast Yearling Sale) as a yearling. Placed in most recent trial. Looks set to run well. SIMPLY SONNET (8) had good support on debut but ran below expectations when fifth over 5½f at Dubbo. Better for that hitout and is one of the main contenders. NAYSTAR (4) is a first starter by Star Turn who was purchased for AUD $ 6,000 (Magic Millions 2025 Gold Coast National Yearling Sale). Among the placings in recent trial and Jett Newman sticks with him. Can play a role.
