O'CALDINO (4) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Sunshine Coast, finishing fourth and only 1. 2 lengths from the winner at the end of 1m1f after being prominent at the bend. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. SONDER (8) wasn't far away last time out, finishing fourth over 1m1 1/2f at Armidale. The extra journey should play into his hands. Poses a genuine threat. ALASKA DE LUNE (10) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m4 1/4f at Beaudesert, beaten 6 lengths into fourth. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. MONTEVECCHIO (2) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 17 lengths away in 12th over 1m2 1/4f at Doomben. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
