MISS LEEWAY (8) is yet to break through after nine starts but not far off a win. Placed in a then missed the frame but was thereabouts last time over 7½f at this track. Should be camped just off the leaders. Best figures stack up and looks well placed to get off the mark. THE CHAMPION (2) was in the firing line all the way and fought on for third last start over 7f at Kembla Grange, making it two minor placings in a row. Will enjoy a drop in class so he is sure to prove hard to beat. PROXIMA CENTAURI (10) finished 3 lengths away in fifth last time out over 6½f at Hawkesbury after being in the firing line on the turn when fresh from a lay-off. Tackles a longer journey this time. Backmarker who keeps coming. Winning claims on best figures. WHO I THINK I AM (12) is a two-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 8 lengths when fifth over 6f at Gosford. Will derive great benefit from that outing and deserves consideration.
