SPENCER'S SPIRIT (6) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7f at Nowra, beaten 2.5 lengths. Fitter so expect a better run this time. THE PROFESSOR (1) finds it hard to win with just one success from 11 starts. Was again denied last start when he found one better over 1m at this track. Best figures measure up nicely. Makes plenty of appeal. CASHBURN (7) hit the frame two starts ago at Kembla Grange but ran below par last time when tenth and beaten 5 lengths over 7½f at Newcastle. Open to improvement and should be about the money.
