Group 2 placegetter SUMTER (11) has accrued two minor placings from three runs this campaign. Was always up in the leading division and finished 2.25 lengths from the winner in third last time out over 1m in the G3 American Stakes at Santa Anita (Turf). Going up a level this time but he cannot be underestimated. Group 2 placegetter ASTRONOMER (7) finished fifth over 1m1/2f in the G2 Seabiscuit Handicap at Del Mar (Turf) at his most recent appearance on November 25. Looks a strong top-three prospect. Group 1 placegetter CATHKIN PEAK (5) built on a nice second when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Santa Anita (Turf) with success as public elect over 1m1f at Santa Anita (Turf) five weeks ago, getting home by 0.3 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can build on that last-start success.
