FIRST CONTACT (8) turned in a fine effort to win by a nose at this track and distance last start in a far better run. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done again. SPIRIT MAN (2) hasn't made an impression lately despite market confidence. Last start could only manage tenth over 7f at this track. Rates highly in this line up. Gets his chance. WELL PLAYED (1) showed good early dash last time out and led for most of the way before being claimed and finishing 2.25 lengths away in third over 7f at this track. Will push forward and is among the chances. PRETTY DEVINE (5) won at York two starts ago but was below her best at a more recent appearance, finishing fifth over 7f at Kalgoorlie. Should be competitive in this suitable race.
