GOLDEN PASSPORT (8) hasn't made an impression since resuming despite market confidence. Last start could only manage eighth over 1m1/2f at Sale. Rates highly in this line up and can improve. MAX MERCURY (3) drifted well back last start then wound up strongly to finish fourth, beaten 5 lengths, over 1m4f at Swan Hill. Sure to prove tough to stop. THE YACHTSMAN (5) got a long way back when 6 lengths from the winner in 11th over 1m3 3/4f at Warrnambool last start, a less impressive effort than his fifth at Cranbourne the run before. Finds a more suitable contest and can take this out. LAST RAIDER (2) accounted for a maiden field over 1m3f at Ararat last start, finishing a nose ahead of the nearest rival. Christine Puls was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the mount. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade.
