GAZELLE (11) made a strong late bid but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 6½f at Mt Gambier. Taking on a better line-up this time but she is good enough to play a major role. TORRITA (9) continued the encouraging form and wasn't far away last time when second over 7f at Balaklava. Looks a solid top-three contender. OAK PARK MADDISON (12) was well fancied last time out but disappointed in finishing fifth over 7f at Balaklava, beaten 6 lengths. Among the chances in what looks a nice race for her. SMOTHER (3) resumes from a lay-off of three months. Could only manage to finish fifth at the latest run over 7f27yards at Geelong. Tuned up with a sixth in a recent trial at Strathalbyn. Has ability and must be included in calculations.
