MR POLAR (4) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 5 lengths when ninth in a 6f contest at Sunshine Coast two-and-a-half weeks ago after being in the firing line on the turn. Tackling a more suitable race this time so he is one of the main contenders. ON THE TARGET (12) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when sixth over 5f32yards at Gympie. Finds a tougher race but a big run is on the cards. ASTIN LANE (9) resumes after a break of four months. Won on debut to launch the last campaign over 4f at Ipswich. One of the genuine hopes in the race.
