PAINTING STONES (3) showed good early speed then led into the straight last start before fighting on to finish second, beaten half a length, over 6f at this track (Dirt). Solid run last time and will take catching again. FREE DANCE (5) has not appeared since he saluted over 6f at Aqueduct (Dirt) on June 15. Has switched to the Chris Englehart yard. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. DEVIL OF RAMADI (1) was too good for a maiden field when resuming last start over 5½f at this track (Dirt), scoring by one length. Harder here but should be involved in the finish.
