SMIDDYBURN (3) turned in a moderate effort on debut last start when fourth at this track over 6f, beaten 6 lengths. Worth following up with that first run out of the way. GALE WARNING (5) is yet to break through in six runs. Finished 11th after being in contention on the bend at his last appearance over 6f at Kenilworth on November 19. This looks a nice race so expect him to be right in the finish. RIVER FERN (4) has registered two minor placings from three runs this campaign. Continued the trend at the most recent appearance when runner-up over 6f at this track after he was in the firing line all the way. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. WORLD SOPRANO (2) returns after 11 months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a seventh over 6½f at this track. Solid top-three hope.
